New Project for 2010 - A Church for Nacimiento, Guatemala

Neighbors First, Inc. is once again partnering with the Christian Cultural Center of Guatemala (CCCG), for a construction project in the eastern jungle area of the country. Together, we will be designing and constructing a new church for the village of Nacimiento.

The church in this village has outgrown their small, board framed, dirt floor building. Tarps are often draped outside the building to shelter the people from the rain and sun. This is the only Christian church in the immediate area and people walk from a neighboring village to worship here as well. With God’s provision, a new, solid, 32’ x 68’ masonry church building will be constructed for Nacimiento.

NFI is estimating that the cost of construction materials will be $12,000. Most of the labor will be donated by NFI, CCCG, and the men of the village. God is using your donations to make projects like this happen.

In partnership with the State Road Church, Neighbors First, Inc. helped provide Carolyn with a new home. Carolyn’s former house-trailer was beyond repair, so the Church raised funds to purchase a replacement mobile home.

NFI organized the move and provided the set-up which included new utility hook-ups, new skirting, a new metal roof, and misc. repairs.

In partnership with the Christian Cultural Center of Guatemala (CCCG), Neighbors First, Inc. built a home for Pastor Oscar who lives in the jungle village of Tablitas, Guatemala.

This sturdy home is a blessing to Pastor Oscar’s family and will further enable the ministry of the Gospel in his village.

Neighbors First thanks all who donated the funds necessary to purchase the building materials, and the team of eight men from Maine who traveled to Guatemala to assist in the construction. Thanks also to our hard-working co-workers in Guatemala for a job well done.

With nearly 20 volunteers and many financial gifts, including the generous donation of half of the necessary building materials from the S.W. Collins Co., the Ward’s have a much needed new roof on their home.

God provided a tangible blessing to this family, who is fighting through the challenges of having a beautiful two year old daughter with cancer.

Across the Street, Across Town, Across the Globe

2 days, 20 volunteers, and many generous donations, made possible the transformation
