The new dormitory facility being constructed by Neighbors First, Inc. is centrally located in the capital city of Managua, Nicaragua and, due to the seismic danger of the region, is designed to resist earthquake forces. This facility will provide a home for up to twelve orphan’s (students) from the island of Ometepe who want to pursue a college education but would otherwise have no safe place to live in the city, where the State and Private Universities are located.

NFI is using a Nicaraguan Architect, project manager, local labor, volunteer labor, and funds donated by NFI’s generous supporters to make this project a reality. NFI volunteers traveled to Nicaragua in April to provide additional construction help and management. After 15 months of design, planning, & construction, this project is nearly complete. All that remains is the painting. The students have moved in and are now enjoying their new building.
